Hello, Spring!

Well, it's finally started warming up in this little town of ours and I couldn't be happier about it! We had the usual snowstorm this month and it was awful. I'm really not a fan of the snow. I'm looking forward to lots of warm days spent outside exploring with my little munchkin. We spent a few hours outside a couple days ago and it was pretty great. Kaetana really is an outdoor lover and I'm trying to break my lazy habits. ;) We have a lot of work to do to the outside of our new place, because it's a dump. The people that were living here before us destroyed it, and it needs so much help! I'm hoping with this new lovely weather we can start tackling that soon. :)
 

Currently

Reading Cinderella this morning.

 Loving: the hour and a half of 'me' time I get every Monday night - after Kaetana goes to sleep, and before John gets home from work. It really is such a relaxing time and I cherish every minute!

Thinking about: how I really want/need to paint our kitchen but haven't the motivation to actually do it! It's going to look a million times better once I get in there and get it done. I am happy, however, because we got the curtains hung in the dining room/over the kitchen window today. It looks a lot better in there already!

Anticipating: going to see The Hunger Games tomorrow evening! John's mom is coming over to watch Kaetana and we're going out for a little dinner and a movie date. I love family time, of course, but having the opportunity to go out and just be with each other is pretty great too.

Listening to: The Regular Show on the television. haha.

Eating: leftover salsa chicken from last night. It's a crockpot recipe, stupid easy and delicious.

Wishing: We had the funds and time to go to California for Easter to see some of John's family. They're all awesome people, we love them a ton!

Life lately, according to my phone.

Things have been a wee bit crazy over here lately, and it's definitely cutting in to my blogging motivation. I have lots of things I want to post, but can't seem to find the time or energy to actually do it. So, here are go with a camera phone post! Hooray!

Thrifty Finds

Kinda hit the jackpot today at our local Goodwill's 'half off Saturday' sale.

I work at a waffle house right next to this particular thrift store, so I frequent it often (hey, you can't find anything cool if you never go right?) but pretty much stick to the kid's stuff. I'm still not a huge fan of sifting through all the junk in the hopes of finding a few treasures but it seems funner when I'm looking at things for Kaetana. Anyways, every other Saturday everything in the store is 50% off which is awesome so I always make sure to pop over after work and today I'm extra glad I did. I ended up scoring all the stuff in the photos below for $13 which is amazing!

All in all, I'd call it one of my more successful trips to the thrift. Normally I hit up the kid's books but didn't have the time this afternoon. I will be posting about some of the awesome books I've found for Kaetana in the near future!

A new friend.

I am so happy to announce that we are back, baby! We bought a new computer a few weeks ago and got our internet hooked up the other day. I'm so happy and excited to get back in the swing of things here and am looking forward to giving this little blog of mine a whole new look soon. I've got plenty to update on, including Keatana's birthday post (3 months late!) and just random whatnots that have been happening in our lives. Including a new addition to our family!  

No, not a baby. Meet Peter, Kaetana's new BFF:

This is a serious match made in heaven right here. Kaetana has been in love since day one, of course, but it took Peter a little while longer to warm up to her and her craziness. She yells, "CAH CAH!" which is her adorable way of saying 'kitty' since she hasn't quite mastered the 'y' sound yet haha. He's just the best little friend to her and it makes me really happy to see the joy on her face every time he's anywhere near her.
